7 Proven Words You Should Be Using in Your Emails

Email delivers results, whether cold emailing or building a highly-targeted and effective email campaign. Ideally, you want recipients to respond in a prompt fashion. Brevity and clarity are your two best friends, and these seven strong words can help guide you to clear, concise text.

This is a word that helps alleviate fear and build trust in a product or statement. It also demonstrates that you are trustworthy and an expert on the given subject.

This powerful word makes the timeline clear: take action now and receive instant gratification! It doesn’t get any better than that online. Also, this helps to alleviate the “I’ll do it later” thought that email readers have. How often do you go back and read a marketing email a second time? Exactly.

Human curiosity drives us to investigate anything new. When you use the word new, you are appealing to basic human curiosity. New things are almost always exciting – at least for a few minutes.

Ah, the almighty sale. Who doesn’t love a bargain? Spam filters, that’s who. While “FREE” is definitely a word that summons the spam filters and one you want to stay away from, “reduced” is a word that is not over used.  And, it implies a temporary reduction in price. Lots of items go on sale, but the word reduced corresponds more closely with “get it while you can.”

This word is more personal, as it connotes a relationship between the buyer and the product – what’s relevant to the individual. After all, a lot of things can be important, but most of us focus more on what’s relevant to us.
