Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers in the U.S., has been the exclusive presenting sponsor of the iconic New Year’s Eve celebration for two consecutive years. The company ushered in 2017 as a “Judgement Free” New Year with approximately one million revelers in New York City and one billion TV viewers around the world.
As part of the company’s Judgment Free Generation initiative, which is designed to combat the judgement and bullying faced by today’s youth by creating a culture of kindness and encouragement, Planet Fitness held a promotion from Nov. 9 through Nov. 16, during which new members could join for only $10 down. During these dates, 100% of enrollment fees were donated to the brand’s Judgement Free Generation™ partners — Boys & Girls Clubs of America and STOMP Out Bullying™. Additionally, existing members were invited to donate $1 and write their name on a paper pinup which was displayed at the front desk of clubs. As a result of the promotion, Planet Fitness and its franchisees raised over $1 million in support of its partners.
